Instructor Training
There are plenty of driving instructor training providers around but not all are of the same standard – so get the facts – you are investing in your future.
Fact 1:
YOU NEED TO BE CAREFUL! You are investing in a career change so make sure you choose your training provider very carefully.
Fact 2:
According to DSA national figures, only 26% of trainee instructors successfully complete the course
Fact 3:
At Quicksilver we currently have a 100% success rate for trainee instructors!
So....why choose Quicksilver?
Quicksilver are ORDIT Registered- not all trainers are.
ORDIT is the DSA’s Official Register of Driving Instructor Training. The purpose of the ORDIT Register is to ensure that high standards of both Instructor Training and general business practices are maintained to the DSA’s requirements.

But it doesn’t stop there. At our latest DSA inspection Quciksilver achieved the highest possible ORDIT rating – Grade 6, so your training is guaranteed to be of the highest quality. Indeed, several of our trainees have come to us from larger organisations in order to successfully complete their training.
Small, Personal and Local
At Quicksilver we do things properly. We are a small, established driving school covering the north west. You are guaranteed the personal attention of the same top grade Instructor Trainer throughout your course and will receive your training when you want it. You will not be just another “number” in a big organisation.
Training is flexible to suit your current work commitments – you can take your time or “fast track” to suit your circumstances.
Whenever you talk to us, you are talking to senior management and therefore get results fast. In addition because we’re local to the north west we know how to help you succeed as an instructor in your local area using our experience within the industry.

“I completed my Part 3 training with Quicksilver and found them to be very professional, friendly and full of hints and tips. They went above my expectations and I would definitely recommend them.
I started my training with a different organization but changed to Quicksilver for my part 3. I’m very happy I did as their level of instruction was way beyond what I had expected and experienced from my previous instructors.
Quicksilver were faultless in their training. They helped me every step of the way and were always happy to help on the phone or on a one to one basis. I’ve already recommended them to other potential driving instructors.”

“Like many others I started my Instructor Training with one of the big national companies – Mistake! Once they had my money up front I felt I was just one of a number. In desperation I looked for a local trainer and was lucky enough to find Quicksilver. At last I had found someone who was professional and reliable! John allowed me to develop my own style. Hew was patient and very supportive. If you’re thinking of training to be a driving instructor you need expert tuition to get through to being qualified and that’s what you get with Quicksilver. I’ve my own driving school now and I’m sure that wouldn’t have happened without John’s help. Thanks Quicksilver!”

The Course
To register with the DSA as a potential driving instructor you must fulfil certain requirements including a Criminal Record check. We will be happy to discuss these with you. To qualify as an instructor you will need to pass the three part DSA test.
Theory and Hazard Perception
You are allowed as many attempts as necessary to pass the Part 1 test.
Practical Driving
Ability to teach
Course Fees
Our current fees which include all training manuals and materials (excluding test fees) for the three part course are as follows:
£300
£600
£1600
You will only be allowed three attempts at parts 2 and 3 of the test – and with this in mind we only ask for payment at the start of each part of the course – you won’t need to pay the whole amount up front... another good reason for choosing Quicksilver!
There are no hidden clauses, tie-ins or additional fees no matter how many hours of training you need, unlike some training organisations who are reluctant to provide any more than the minimum hours required by the DSA.
Trainee License -
Full ADI Qualification
On completion of a minimum of 40 hours training at part three, the DSA may grant you a trainee license which lasts for 6 months and enables you to gain experience in teaching real pupils (and also to charge for lessons).
Once you have received the required amount of training Quicksilver will offer you, where appropriate, a position as a trainee instructor or as a fully qualified ADI. This can be on a part time or full time basis according to your circumstances.
Ongoing Development
Once qualified your training continues…..Quicksilver offer comprehensive training for all A.D.I’s (from any driving school) to enable them to pass periodic Check Tests carried out by the DSA . We also have in place an ongoing C.P.D.(Continued Professional Development) programme.
