Quicksilver are ORDIT Registered- not all trainers are.
ORDIT is the DSA’s Official Register of Driving Instructor Training. The purpose of the ORDIT Register is to ensure that high standards of both Instructor Training and general business practices are maintained to the DSA’s requirements.

But it doesn’t stop there. At our latest DSA inspection Quciksilver maintained the highest possible ORDIT rating – Grade 6, so your training is guaranteed to be of the highest quality. The Course

To register with the DSA as a potential driving instructor you must fulfil certain requirements including a Criminal Record check. We will be happy to discuss these with you. To qualify as an instructor you will need to pass the three  part DSA test.

 

Theory

Consists of an initial classroom session followed by home study with regular input from your Quicksilver instructor.

You will need to pass both the Theory and the Hazard Perception Test on the same occasion.

You are allowed as many attempts as necessary to pass the Part 1 test.

 

Practical Driving

Conducted in-car and will enable you to drive on all types of roads to a very high standard.

 

Ability to teach

The most intensive and involved part of the course and probably the most enjoyable. You will be tested on your attitude and approach to the pupil, and your skills in identifying, analysing and correcting faults made by the person you are teaching.

 

There are a number of skills involved in achieving this including question and answer techniques, planning, communication skills, feedback and encouragement and control of the lesson.

 

You will be trained to deliver high quality driving lessons and to be able to role play these with your examiner on the part 3 test.

 

 

Course Fees

 

Experience tells us that it is better for trainee instructors to pay for their training by the hour.

Pay by the hour / session at the rate of £35 per hour

 

Pre-pay for 10 hours and receive 10% discount  (ie: £315)

 

Pre-pay for 20 hours and receive 15% discount  (ie: £595)

 

The above prices include all training manuals and materials but exclude test fees.

A registration fee of £150 is payable (£50 if taking part 3 only) prior to commencement of training.

Trainee License -
Full ADI Qualification

On completion of a minimum of 40 hours training at part three, the DSA may grant you a trainee license which lasts for 6 months and enables you to gain experience in teaching real pupils (and also to charge for lessons).

 

Once you have received the required amount of training Quicksilver will offer you, where appropriate, a position as a trainee instructor or as a fully qualified ADI. This can be on a part time or full time basis according to your circumstances.

Ongoing Development

Once qualified your Instructor training continues. Quicksilver offer comprehensive training for all A.D.I’s (from any driving school) to enable them to pass periodic Check Tests carried out by the DSA . We also have in place an ongoing  C.P.D.(Continued Professional Development) programme.
